Our client, a renowned research institution, is seeking a visionary Principal Research Scientist specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to join their cutting-edge R&D division in **Los Angeles, California, US**. Responsibilities:

Lead research initiatives in areas such as deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, reinforcement learning, or other AI/ML domains. Collaborate with cross-functional teams of scientists, engineers, and product developers to integrate research findings into innovative solutions. Publish research findings in top-tier scientific journals and present at international conferences. Secure research funding through grant writing and proposal development. Mentor and guide junior researchers and scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and academic rigor. Stay at the forefront of AI/ML advancements by continuously exploring new research papers, techniques, and tools. Develop and implement strategies for scaling AI/ML models for real-world applications. Evaluate and select appropriate tools, platforms, and technologies for research and development projects. Contribute to the strategic direction of the research department.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field. 10+ years of hands-on research experience in AI/ML, with a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. Demonstrated expertise in one or more core AI/ML areas (deep learning, NLP, computer vision, etc.). Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI/ML research, such as Python, and relevant libraries/frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn). Experience with large-scale data processing and distributed computing environments. Proven ability to conceptualize, design, and execute complex research projects independently. Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership qualities and the ability to mentor and inspire research teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex research ideas effectively. Experience in leading research teams and managing research projects.
