Job Description

Our client, a leading player in the petrochemical industry, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Process Chemical Engineer to join their operational team in Dallas, Texas, US. This role is integral to optimizing and ensuring the safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operation of complex chemical processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in chemical engineering principles, process simulation, troubleshooting, and process safety management. You will work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and R&D teams to drive continuous improvement, enhance product quality, and achieve production targets.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and analyze plant operations to identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements. Troubleshoot operational issues, diagnose root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and maximize yield. Develop and implement process modifications to improve safety, reliability, product quality, and environmental performance. Conduct process safety reviews (e.g., HAZOP studies) and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Utilize process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) for process design, analysis, and optimization. Develop and maintain P&IDs, operating procedures, and technical documentation. Collaborate with the maintenance department on equipment reliability and preventative maintenance strategies. Support new process start-ups and evaluate new technologies for potential implementation. Analyze process data and generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, throughput, and energy consumption. Work closely with R&D to scale up new processes from laboratory to pilot and commercial scale. Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and participate in environmental compliance initiatives. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering within the petrochemical, chemical, or refining industry. Strong understanding of chemical process principles, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics. Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools. Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and practices. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal abilities. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, technical drawings, and equipment manuals. Experience with process control systems is desirable.
