Job Overview
The Process Engineer I plays a critical role in supporting and optimizing the manufacturing of multi-layer capacitor devices. This position is responsible for ensuring that production processes remain efficient, reliable, and capable of delivering high-quality products with improved throughput and yield. The engineer will contribute to both sustaining and developing manufacturing processes, working cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide daily production support by troubleshooting process issues and coordinating with production teams to maintain smooth operations.
- Sustain and improve existing manufacturing processes to ensure consistent performance, high product quality, and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to moderate-complexity process improvement initiatives focused on enhancing yield, throughput, and quality.
- Develop and update technical documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), preventive maintenance (PM) plans, work instructions, and process flow diagrams.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, drive corrective actions, and support decision-making through time and cost evaluations.
- Actively participate in Daily Management (DM) boards, delivering engineering updates, resolving issues, and supporting Front End engineering requests.
- Support the implementation and scale-up of new manufacturing technologies and processes.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis for recurring production challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Front End, Back End Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance—to drive process optimization and resolve issues.
- Assist in evaluating and integrating new equipment, including authoring SOPs and training materials.
- Ensure all processes and documentation align with internal quality standards and industry best practices.
- Contribute to quality investigations and corrective actions related to customer complaints.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Materials Science, or a related field)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks, with the ability to create and interpret technical drawings
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; familiarity with statistical tools is a plus
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of clear technical documentation
