Business Unit Description

Enovis Surgical provides orthopedic surgeons with modern, patient‑focused solutions for joint arthroplasty. The team develops and manages innovative implant products, tools, and digital health technology to improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary process and manufacturing expert on new product introduction teams.
  • Assess process capabilities, prioritize improvement opportunities, and implement process enhancements on development projects.
  • Apply technical expertise to design and develop processes, procedures, tooling, and automation.
  • Execute functional deliverables for CAPA, Project Management, and Quality Systems.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct all manufacturing technical reviews.
  • Ensure documentation meets quality systems requirements (e.g., BOMs, routers, FEMAs).
  • Write and review validation protocols and reports for new processes.
  • Oversee development builds and coordinate technical work requests.
  • Provide Design for Manufacturability input to engineering print packages.
  • Communicate process limits and capabilities to the development team.
  • Contribute ideas to or generate intellectual property submissions.
  • Train manufacturing personnel as required during validation.
  • Participate in lean reviews and Kaizen events.
  • Coach technicians and other engineering support employees.

Minimum Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, BSME, or related engineering field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a process or manufacturing engineering role.

  • Stand or sit for extended periods.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing, Lean Manufacturing, and Process Control concepts.
  • Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Proficiency in Six Sigma or DMAIC methodologies.
  • Data analysis experience (e.g., Minitab) preferred.
  • Experience with measurement systems (CMMs, vision inspection, profilometers).
  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, MasterCAM).
  • Knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5M-1994).
  • Master’s degree in engineering and/or expertise in metals/plastics machining, additive manufacturing a plus.
