Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Repair Process Development:
- Design, implement, and optimize scalable repair systems for a wide range of products (tools, electronics, appliances, etc.), ensuring items can be refurbished effectively and returned to the market.
- Create comprehensive workflows that streamline repair tasks from intake to quality control.
- Develop innovative repair techniques for items of varying complexity, focusing on efficiency, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
Cost-Benefit Analysis:
- Conduct detailed economic feasibility studies for repairs, ensuring that processes maximize profitability while maintaining quality and sustainability standards.
- Continuously analyze the ROI of repair operations and identify areas for improvement.
Documentation and Training Systems:
- Develop clear, user-friendly documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials to guide team members with minimal prior experience.
- Build and maintain an organizational structure that empowers teams to perform repairs independently and effectively.
Sustainability Advocacy:
- Champion ReturnPro’ s mission of zero waste by driving repair-first practices and reducing the need for replacements.
- Integrate sustainable principles, such as lifecycle assessments and material reuse, into all aspects of the repair process.
Technical Leadership:
- Provide expertise in material science, failure analysis, and repair techniques across multiple categories of products.
- Leverage advanced tools like CAD software, automation systems, and data analytics to enhance process efficiency and innovation.
- Drive the integration of technology, including robotics and custom tools, to improve precision and reduce turnaround time.
Collaboration and Problem-Solving:
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks in repair operations and implement solutions.
- Act as a mentor and trainer to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
Qualifications
- Degree in mechanical engineering or Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in repair, refurbishment, or manufacturing process optimization.
- Strong understanding of repair techniques for tools, electronics, and appliances.
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) and experience with prototyping and testing.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
- Experience conducting cost-benefit analyses and ROI assessments for repair operations.
- Exceptional documentation and organizational skills, with the ability to translate complex processes into actionable steps for diverse teams.
- Passion for sustainability, zero waste, and environmentally conscious business practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a results-driven mindset.
