We are seeking a Process & Quality Engineer to support and continuously improve our manufacturing operations. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing production processes that support a 24/7 manufacturing environment while meeting quality, safety, productivity, and cost objectives. The key deliverable of this position will be successful completion of quantifiable cost savings projects.
You’ll work cross-functionally with production, quality, EHS, sales, and customer teams, and you’ll have hands‑on involvement in process improvement initiatives and capital projects from concept through execution.
Process Improvement & Manufacturing Excellence Lead cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing processes with a focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost Define and control process parameters to ensure consistent, high-quality production Identify, develop, and implement new technologies and methods to improve process capability and site performance Partner with EHS to ensure processes and materials meet safety and regulatory requirements Support continuous improvement initiatives, including reducing scrap, rework, and variability Quality Management Support and maintain quality systems aligned with ISO 9001 requirements Establish quality plans for incoming, in-process, and finished product inspection Oversee inspection and analytical lab activities, including direct supervision of lab technician(s) Serve as a quality liaison with customers and vendors, providing Certificates of Analysis and related documentation Ensure quality data, records, and reporting systems are accurate and accessible Project & Capital Management Propose and execute projects to improve process control, quality, and productivity Lead capital projects, including equipment, automation, controls, and safety improvements Manage projects from concept through completion, including vendor coordination and technical evaluations Develop and maintain process documentation such as work instructions and test procedures Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Ceramic Engineering (required) 3 -5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment Experience evaluating, troubleshooting, and improving manufacturing processes and equipment Experience working within an industrial or manufacturing engineering team (chemical, ceramic, or similar environments preferred) Strong process optimization, problem-solving, and data analysis skills Working knowledge of SPC, lean manufacturing, 5S, quality systems, and Six Sigma concepts (certification a plus) Experience with CAPEX projects and Management of Change processes Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook Automation exposure, including PLCs, SCADA systems (e.g., Ignition), and Manufacturing 4.0 concepts (preferred) Solid understanding of safety and environmental regulations Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across functions Compensation
Saint‑Gobain offers a total rewards package including a base salary range of $81,500 to $126,500 per year, with an additional annual bonus target of 10% of base salary. The Total Target Cash range for this position is $89,650 to $139,150.
