I feel the Flent platform is going to be a lot more than a grid of homes on an app.

Renting in REAL life is extremely messy. Most people come with fuzzy requirements - “something close to my office, maybe ₹60k budget, should’ve good ventilation, non-smoking flatmates”. And on the supply side, every home is a new SKU with 100+ attributes. Traditional marketplace interfaces and journeys will never work.

I think of our platform as a broker in software form - one that listens, interprets, and guides, rather than dumping endless choices. It should be able to explain why this home makes sense for you, do the trade-offs you’d otherwise struggle with, and build trust through speed and clarity.

Good design, to me, is invisible yet deeply felt. It simplifies decisions, reduces doubt, and helps people move forward with confidence. That’s the bar I hold for everything we build at Flent.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re hiring our second Product Designer. You won’t just be designing screens — you’ll be setting the design DNA of the company.

From the way renters search, visit, and book homes, to how they manage their stay after moving in, you’ll shape the entire digital renting experience. With no legacy to unwind, you get a blank canvas to build a design foundation from scratch — the system, the flows, the patterns, and the culture.

You’ll partner with product management and engineering to scope, run quick user feedback loops and deliver visual interfaces that set a new bar in product design.This role also comes with an opportunity to lead the function in the next 12-24 months.

WHAT YOU’LL BROADLY DO:

• Build the design system

Create Flent’s Figma system from the ground up—color tokens, typography, components, motion. Ship accessible, consistent UI across every screen.

• Own end-to-end journeys

Design the visual product for tenants, landlords, and prospects across onboarding, discovery, booking, and post–move-in. Cover happy flows to edge states; write crisp microcopy.

• Define the core experience

Map the full renting lifecycle—search to move-in and beyond. Set navigation, state handling, and online ↔ offline touchpoints (home visits, key handoffs).

• Prototype fast

Turn ideas into clickable prototypes in hours. Test with users or teammates, then push to high-fidelity, dev-ready specs.

• Shape product strategy

Help frame problems, outcomes, and success metrics. Partner with PM/engineering to scope MVPs, trade-offs, and risks.

• Measure and improve

Pick UX metrics (e.g., time-to-match, booking drop-offs). Instrument with engineering, analyze behavior, and iterate in tight build-measure-learn loops.

• Seed the design culture

As our first designer, you will run UI critiques, setup document patterns and set design rituals

WHAT YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL LOOK LIKE:

• Align on priorities each morning with the team.

• Translate feedback and fuzzy inputs into clear design briefs.

• Work in Figma — from wireframes to polished UI — while keeping the design system updated.

• Prototype flows and run quick user tests.

• Scope work with PM/Eng, breaking down designs into simple, valuable milestones.

• QA before launch — visuals, motion, copy, accessibility.

• Monitor analytics and replays post-launch, suggest tweaks and bigger bets.

• Stay close to users by joining home visits, sales demos, and support chats.

• Share design inspirations, do product teardowns and plan design sprints. Push for design-led culture in the tech team.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:

• Has 5–7 years of experience in product design, ideally in consumer-facing products.

• Brings strong visual craft — clear hierarchy, intuitive interactions, thoughtful motion.

• Is fluent in Figma (Auto Layout, Variables, prototyping).

• Can turn ambiguous problems statements into structured flows and prototypes.

• Communicates clearly with PMs and engineers, and thrives in collaborative teams.

• Balances creativity with execution, knows when to polish and when to ship.

• Is genuinely excited about creating a new standard of renting in India

• Able to think from first principles instead of simply applying the “standard” UX processes.
