About the role

Original posting from Nollahealth via Ashby

THE MISSION

Nolla is building AI doctors so that top-quality healthcare is accessible to everyone. Nolla Skin is the #1 medical skincare treatment app in the U.S. App Store. We've treated thousands of acne patients in the U.S., scanned 1% of Norway's population for skin cancer, and our in-house clinical models are state of the art on clinical benchmarks. We just launched NollaMD, our urgent care app, and we're building dedicated specialty apps for conditions like birth control and allergies. We raised a $4.5M seed from General Catalyst.

THE ROLE

We're hiring our first dedicated product designer. You'll own design across everything we ship and define what Nolla looks and feels like as a product company. You'll work directly with the founding team and your work reaches patients immediately.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • Own end-to-end design for Nolla Skin plus the new specialty apps we're launching
  • Translate dense clinical and scientific information into experiences people actually want to engage with
  • Make complex healthcare feel obvious
  • Build a design system that ties our growing portfolio of apps together. Cohesive, but flexible enough for each app to have its own personality
  • Go from a metric, user problem, or business goal → product concept → user flow → polished design
  • Partner closely with engineering to ship fast and iterate based on real user data

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 4+ years designing consumer apps, ideally including mobile
  • A portfolio that shows the work is polished: interactions feel considered, type and layout are tight, the apps feel magical to use
  • You think in flows and systems, not just screens. You can scope and design a feature end-to-end
  • Strong opinions about how to make information-dense products legible and beautiful
  • Fluent in Figma; comfortable with prototyping and at least light motion
  • You're passionate about healthcare even if you haven't worked in it. You've worked at small companies before and ship fast

BONUS POINTS

  • Experience designing across a multi-product ecosystem
  • Opinions about why most consumer healthcare UX is bad
