Neo is building what Canada's big banks won't: modern financial products that actually make your money work for you. We're a technology company, not a traditional bank, which means no legacy systems, no decades-old red tape, and no tolerance for "good enough." In just a few years, we've built a multi-product platform from scratch, launched credit, savings, investing, and rewards that millions of Canadians use every day, and partnered with some of the biggest brands in the country. Our team is behind some of Canada's fastest-growing companies (like SkipTheDishes), and we're now taking on one of the largest, most broken industries in the country. If you're excited by the idea of rewriting the financial playbook, Neo might be your next move.

THE ROLE

We're hiring a Product Manager to lead our Fraud squad. This isn't a "lock everything down and hope for the best" kind of role. Our mission is to build the most trusted and safest financial institution in Canada — while delivering the best customer experience. That means you won't just be stopping bad actors; you'll be designing intelligent systems that protect millions of customers without them ever feeling the friction.

You'll own the product strategy for how Neo detects, prevents, and responds to fraud across every product surface — credit, banking, transfers, and whatever we launch next. The work is deeply technical: you'll partner with fraud strategists, data scientists, and engineers to build and tune rule engines, define experimentation frameworks with proper control groups, and make data-driven decisions on large, messy datasets where the signal-to-noise ratio is brutal. If you've ever optimized a logistics network, tuned a marketplace matching algorithm, or improved conversion through systematic experimentation, you'll recognize the shape of these problems.

At the same time, you'll obsess over the customer experience. Every fraud control has a cost to legitimate customers — false declines, holds, friction at onboarding. Your job is to find the line where we maximize protection and minimize frustration, and then move that line every quarter.

You'll report to the Group Product Manager of Fincrime and work closely with a tight-knit squad of designers and engineers. Neo is growing fast — we're scaling toward 1 million active customers — and the fraud landscape changes with every new product, rail, and growth lever. This role won't stay static, and that's the point.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Set a clear product vision for fraud prevention at Neo — one that balances risk reduction with customer trust and experience quality.
  • Design and optimize fraud detection systems across multiple product surfaces. You'll define rules, thresholds, and policies, then measure whether they actually work.
  • Build experimentation infrastructure and frameworks. You'll run A/B tests on fraud controls, define proper holdout groups, and make decisions backed by statistical rigor — not gut feel.
  • Dig deep into data. You'll work with large transaction datasets, identify patterns, define metrics, and separate signal from noise to drive fraud strategy.
  • Partner with fraud strategists and data scientists to evaluate and improve models, understand false positive / false negative trade-offs, and translate model outputs into product decisions.
  • Own the customer experience side of fraud. When a legitimate customer gets blocked, held, or declined — that's your problem to solve.
  • Collaborate across squads to ensure fraud controls are designed into new products from day one, not bolted on after launch.
  • Write narratives, not just tickets. You'll bring structure to ambiguity through clear strategy docs, roadmaps, and product briefs that help everyone make better decisions.
  • Prioritize ruthlessly. You'll make smart trade-offs between fraud loss reduction, customer experience, operational cost, and engineering capacity.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 2–5+ years of hands-on PM experience at tech or tech-forward companies. The exact number matters less than what you've done with it — we're hiring across PM, Senior, and Lead levels.
  • You're deeply comfortable with data. Not "I look at dashboards" comfortable — you write queries, understand distributions, and can reason about statistical significance. You've made product decisions on datasets where the answer wasn't obvious.
  • You've worked in technical optimization spaces. Fraud, logistics, marketplace dynamics, ad tech, pricing, risk — you've shipped products where the core challenge was optimizing a system against adversarial or noisy conditions with real trade-offs.
  • You understand experimentation and models. You know what a control group is, why it matters, and how to design tests that actually prove something. You can partner with data scientists and speak their language — even if you're not building models yourself.
  • You obsess over customer experience. You've built products where the "happy path" matters as much as the edge cases, and you know how to make complex systems feel simple to users.
  • You think in systems and edge cases. You can connect high-level strategy with granular execution.
  • You communicate like a pro — clear stories, compelling roadmaps, and presentations that land on both product deep-dives and exec syncs.
  • You thrive in ambiguity. Fast-paced, evolving priorities don't scare you — they're your sweet spot.
  • You lead with humility: high standards, low ego. You listen, learn, and lift others as you go.
  • Fintech, payments, or fraud experience is a strong plus — but we'd rather have someone who's built real optimization products in logistics or a similar domain than someone who's only worked in finance but never touched data deeply.

COMING FROM A NON-PM BACKGROUND?

Many of our strongest PMs started in consulting, engineering, data science, or finance. If you've spent your career solving optimization problems, building analytical systems, or working in fraud/risk in a non-PM capacity — and you're ready to own a product — we want to hear from you. What matters most is how you think, solve problems, and lead through complexity.
