Job Description

Mid-level Product QA Analyst contractor for multiple client software engagements

About Digital Scientists LLC

We specialize in product strategy, design, and custom development for companies across three main verticals: healthcare, logistics, and private equity. Since 2007, we’ve helped clients solve complex problems through digital transformation, service design, and other cutting-edge technology solutions. Digital Scientists partners with forward thinking businesses to create mobile apps, sophisticated web platforms, cloud app development, eCommerce and “internet of things” (IoT) applications - all using the latest technologies to deliver awesome software products to solve complex problems for users.

Description

Digital Scientists is hiring a detail-oriented and collaborative Product QA Analyst to join our Experience team on a contract basis. In this role, you’ll serve as a key connector between incoming customer-reported issues and our QA, Product, and Engineering teams across multiple active client engagements — helping ensure that bugs are clearly documented, properly organized, and appropriately prioritized for resolution.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys digging into problems, working across teams, and making sense of complex issue queues. You don’t need to be a seasoned engineer, but you should be curious, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced software environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Execute test passes — Run functional, regression, and exploratory testing across web and mobile products as projects require it. This includes learning the customers workflows and developing an understanding of how their business will engage in the software.
  • Write clear test documentation — Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and checklists tailored to each project’s needs.
  • Triage and route incoming issues — Manage the inbound queue of customer-reported bugs and internal QA findings: reproduce them, file well-scoped reports in Jira (or the project’s tracker), and ensure each is properly prioritized for resolution.
  • Coordinate across teams — Act as a liaison between project managers, designers, engineers, and clients to ensure QA priorities are understood and scheduled.
  • Verify releases — Run pre-release smoke tests and sign off on builds before they reach client or production environments.
  • Support cross-browser and cross-device testing — Validate experiences across major browsers, mobile devices, and screen sizes.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of hands-on QA or software testing experience
  • Solid understanding of QA fundamentals: test case design, regression testing, defect lifecycle, and release verification
  • Experience using a bug tracking tool such as Jira, Linear, or GitHub Issues
  • Strong written communication — you can describe a bug clearly enough that an engineer can fix it without follow-up questions
  • Comfort working across multiple client projects simultaneously, with the discipline to track context and deadlines for each
  • Self-directed work style suitable for a US remote, contract engagement

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to API testing tools (Postman, Insomnia) or basic SQL
  • Background testing AI-powered or data-driven products
  • Prior agency or consulting experience
