Role and Responsibilities:

  • PLC Programming and Troubleshooting (50%)
  • Maintain and troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop, modify, and implement control programs for automated processes.
  • Diagnose and repair control system issues, including PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
  • Perform software modifications, upgrades, and installations for PLC systems.
  • System Maintenance and Performance (30%)
  • Perform routine maintenance on PLC control systems and associated equipment.
  • Monitor system performance and resolve alarms or issues promptly.
  • Ensure system reliability and uptime through preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Support development and implementation of control system improvements.
  • Collaboration and Documentation (10%)
  • Work with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to solve production issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, modifications, and upgrades.
  • Develop and update system documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and PLC program backups.
  • Safety and Compliance (10%)
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, standards, and regulations during maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure compliance with PepsiCo’s safety standards and industry best practices.
  • Perform lockout/tagout procedures and promote safe work practices.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with PLC systems in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting, particularly with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs.
  • Experience with SCADA systems, HMIs, and automation technologies.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, with ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field.
  • Experience with advanced PLC programming languages (ladder logic, structured text, function block diagrams).
  • Knowledge of automation and control system design principles.
  • Experience with VFDs, motor controls, and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, etc.).
  • Certification in PLC systems or automation-related fields.
