ABOUT MACH INDUSTRIES

Founded in 2022, Mach Industries is a rapidly growing defense technology company focused on developing next-generation autonomous defense platforms. At the core of our mission is the commitment to delivering scalable, decentralized defense systems that enhance the strategic capabilities of the United States and its allies. With a workforce of approximately 220 employees, we operate with startup agility and ambition.

Our vision is to redefine the future of warfare through cutting-edge manufacturing, innovation at speed, and unwavering focus on national security. We are dedicated to solving the next generation of warfare with lethal systems that deter kinetic conflict and protect global security.

THE ROLE

Mach Industries is searching for a structural analyst/designer to analyze the rotating and stationary components in the engine and guide solutions. The components under investigation include compressor and turbine rotors, stationary vanes, shafts, pressurized casings, and more. The analyst will own the components under investigation and be responsible for guidance on structural capability and improvement. They will work daily with aerodynamic and mechanical designers to develop these critical components at a rapid pace. Their components will be manufactured and tested in weeks rather than years. They will have a hand with the design, manufacturing and testing.

We are on a mission to deliver high-performance small turbine engines at scale needed by rethinking the fundamentals to enable high-rate, scalable manufacturing. This is an opportunity to shape the future of propulsion from the ground up, and it takes the best people to make that happen. We are looking for those who thrive in diverse, fast-paced, high-expectation environments and are driven to build what’s never been built before.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze rotating and stationary components to determine stress, life, fatigue, etc.
  • Develop tools/workflows in simulation software for speeding up repetitive tasks.
  • Create analytical tools to perform basic analysis.
  • Work with aerodynamic and mechanical designers and manufacturing to develop the ultimate component.
  • Guide the drawing requirements for the component’s tolerance.
  • Develop test procedures for component life.
  • Communicate structural results and structural knowledge to the team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a professional environment.
  • Fundamental knowledge in structural mechanics and rotor-dynamics.
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience for static structural, vibratory and heat transfer analysis in a professional environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Turbo-machinery components.
  • Proficiency in NX/Teamcenter for product design and engineering.
  • Fundamental thinker.
  • Builder mentality, you are driven to create and improve not just maintain the status quo.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills with ability to develop scientific thinking in others as well as help teams to develop efficient tools and processes for success.
  • Independent, flexible and well-spoken. Needs to be able to focus on the ultimate goal without getting lost in the weeds.
