Job Description

BERK Consulting is looking for an early-career Associate Analyst with 2-4 years of relevant work experience in financial and/or economic analysis to contribute to impactful public policy and management projects that serve Washington communities.

Our Finance & Economics team serves public sector clients across Washington State to help plan, manage, and sustain their communities through strong public services, equitable tax policies, and thoughtful capital facility planning.

We also help our clients understand underlying economic conditions and their strategic challenges and opportunities, translating demographic and market conditions into succinct policy options and scenarios.

Role Overview

In this role, you will support client-facing work, including written reports, PowerPoint presentations, Excel models, and analyzing data and turning findings into clear insights. You will contribute to proposal development for new projects by conducting research, drafting content, and helping shape scopes and timelines.

  • Public policy analysis

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in finance, economics, public policy, or a related field
  • Experience with Excel-based financial, economic, and/or public policy analysis
  • Experience organizing and managing quantitative data and analysis in a team setting
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical information and concepts
  • Clear analytic, writing, and presentation skills

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience in public finance or financial modeling
  • Experience with performance measurement, survey design, or data analysis
  • Interest or experience in policy areas such as transportation, housing, parks and recreation, human services, or economic development
  • Prior consulting experience
  • Degree in public policy, economics, finance, or a related field

Hybrid Work Expectations

BERK uses a hybrid work model to help maintain a healthy work/life balance. This position is based in Seattle and encourages regular in-office attendance. During the first six (6) months of employment, employees must be in the office at least three (3) days per week to support onboarding and training.
