The Opportunity
Our client, a Chicago based financial services firm, is seeking a Full Stack AI Engineer to join their internal Operations Group. In this role, you will serve as a technical "special forces" unit across a diverse portfolio of companies. Rather than building a single product, you will act as an internal consultant—identifying, architecting, and deploying AI and software solutions that drive enterprise value and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Consulting: Partner with portfolio companies and identify high-impact Software AI/LLM integration solutions
- Hands-on Development: Rapidly prototype and ship full-stack applications, with a heavy focus on Python backends and generative AI workflows (RAG, Agentic AI, and Custom GPTs).
- Value Creation: Bridge the gap between complex technical AI concepts and business outcomes, ensuring software projects align with the PE firm’s investment thesis.
- Technical Excellence: Establish modern engineering standards (CI/CD, Cloud Architecture) across portfolio companies at varying levels of technical maturity.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of shipping production-grade code.
- Background: Professional Consulting experience is highly preferred. You must be comfortable with "client-facing" interactions and managing multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
- Technical Stack: * Expert Python: Deep experience with AI/ML libraries and LLM orchestration (LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI SDK).
- Full Stack: Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Next.js) and robust API design.
- Data & Cloud: Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and cloud-native deployments (AWS/Azure).
- Location: This is a 100% on-site role located in the Chicago Loop. Candidates must be willing to work from the office 5 days a week.
