You will work closely with the Project Lead and the analytics-focused Developer to validate tracking accuracy across the site, identify gaps or inconsistencies, and provide confidence that analytics data can be trusted for reporting and business decision-making. This is a highly hands-on, detail-oriented role focused on manual validation rather than automated testing. This role acts as the final line of defense before analytics data is relied upon for performance measurement and business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manually validate GA4 and Google Tag Manager implementations across the eCommerce website
  • Use browser developer tools (Chrome and Edge DevTools) to inspect network requests, console output, and event payloads
  • Inspect and validate the website data layer directly using the browser console
  • Confirm that events, parameters, and data values align with the defined tracking plan and business requirements
  • Work with colleague to ensure validation is completed according to project milestones and timelines
  • Document findings, defects, and validation results in a clear, organized manner that can be shared with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Use Omnibug to:

  • Verify GA4 events, parameters, and conversions
  • Confirm correct tag firing behavior
  • Identify missing, duplicated, or malformed events

Partner with the Developer to:

  • Report issues clearly and reproducibly
  • Validate fixes after updates are deployed
  • Confirm readiness for release

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience as a Manual QA Engineer, Validation Analyst, or Analytics QA in web-based environments
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working through repetitive validation scenarios
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and collaborating with developers and project leadership

Strong hands-on experience using:

  • Chrome and Edge Developer Tools
  • Omnibug for analytics tag inspection and validation

Ability to use the browser console to:

  • Inspect and read the website data layer
  • Validate JavaScript objects and values

Working understanding of:

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) event-based tracking concepts
  • Google Tag Manager firing logic (tags, triggers, variables)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret JavaScript and JSON structures (not required to write production code)
  • Experience validating marketing and analytics tags provided by multiple stakeholders
  • Familiarity with structured tracking plans or analytics documentation

Prior experience validating analytics implementations during:

  • GA4 migrations
  • eCommerce site launches
  • GTM reimplementations
