Position Summary:

To perform all aspects required for proper evaluation and resolution of quality related matters and technical issues that may arise during manufacturing and maintenance of turbine engine components, and to support activities related to quality system requirements compliance. Develop, track and provide statistical analysis, reports and metrics for quality related activities.

Quality Engineer Duties:

  • Complete Quality Engineering assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Assure that product shipped meets internal and external customer requirements.
  • Manage supplier quality, interplant and customer interfaces.
  • Manage internal and customer drawings and specifications.
  • Demonstrate and deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring timely release of control of configuration management documents.
  • Provide technical support to both internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Formulate and implement quality assurance procedures, policies, and standards
  • Establish and maintain applicable measurements / metrics for monitoring product quality effectiveness. (FPY, COPQ, Defects, Escapes)
  • Analyze current operational processes and performance to drive / implement solutions for improvement as necessary
  • Implement process improvement projects, Six Sigma, 90 days Projects
  • Lead Built in Quality Process (Real-time problem resolution, advanced quality processes including statistically based variation reduction, control planning, mistake proofing, and Manufacturing Process Control)
  • Review customer purchase orders, contracts and change requests and take proper actions
  • Development inspection plans, methods, and technologies to assure the reliability and conformance of products and processes
  • Develop and implement product quality plans and control plans
  • Provides quality support/review/approval on Engineering Process Instructions
  • Establish Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility for critical measurement tools
  • Conduct First Article Inspection Report (FAIR)
  • Lead all phases of the Escape Management Process (containment, correction, prevention)
  • Present Corrective Action – on Monthly Executive CAB
  • Leads the review and validation of product non-conformances and disposition type, including burndown plans for MRB locations – Legacy
  • Submit Concessions to customers and follow up to the closure
  • Lead structured problem-solving activities to resolve customer complaints, internal defects, in a timely manner that prevents reoccurrence
  • Provide daily support to the shop floor on quality product impact
  • Participate, lead and co-lead T4 meetings
  • Daily interacts with shop floor employees, leads and supervisors to understand issues and identify technical solutions.
  • Identify Quality CapEx Projects to improve Quality Product
  • Conduct Internal Product Audits
  • Design and implement process control for Inspection of supplier's product or processes (Quality Plans, Incoming Inspection Report, AQL Sampling)
  • Represents Process Quality in the product development process, ensuring process compliance at each phase of the development and signing off on gate progression
  • Other duties as assigned.
