Join our dynamic team as a mid-level Software Test Engineer, where your expertise will help ensure the top-notch quality of a mobile user application in an agile environment. In this role, you will engage in both manual and automated testing across user interface and backend components, supporting the maintenance of test assets and thorough documentation. Collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams is key, as well as an emphasis on regression, performance, and automated testing practices. Your clear communication skills and active participation in agile methodologies will be invaluable.
To meet federal security clearance requirements, only U.S. Citizens with an active Secret clearance will be considered. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis. Responsibilities:
- Author and execute comprehensive manual and automated test cases to validate product requirements.
- Develop and sustain tools, techniques, and practices that enhance testing processes.
- Actively participate in agile planning, analysis, design events, and reviews.
- Conduct quality checks and verify acceptance criteria prior to code merges.
- Document and report defects and test results promptly and comprehensively.
- Identify, analyze, and document issues related to functionality, outputs, screens, or content.
- Contribute insights during design reviews on requirements, designs, schedules, and potential issues.
- Prepare and finalize testing documentation and system/software documentation CDRLs.
- Work collaboratively within Agile Scrum teams.
Experience Requirements:
- Must possess an active Secret DoD security clearance and be a U.S. citizen.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in software development testing.
- A minimum of 8 years in software testing and/or software development.
- Proficient in a scripting language such as Python or JavaScript.
- Skilled in implementing regression testing methodologies.
- Experience with non-functional testing, including performance testing.
- Familiar with automated test tools.
- Strong communication skills with product owners and software developers.
- Knowledgeable in Agile development methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Quick learner of new tools and technologies (preferred).
- Able to identify efficiencies and process improvements between development and testing (preferred).
- Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN (preferred).
- Familiar with issue tracking tools such as VersionOne or Jira (preferred).
- Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins (preferred).
- Proficient in MS Office tools including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint (preferred).
- Possess a DoD 8570 approved security certification such as Security+ or CISSP within 90 days of hire (preferred).
- Experience using Squish for Qt (preferred).
- Agile certification (preferred).
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- DoD 8570 approved security certification such as Security+ or CISSP.
- Active Secret DoD security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
