ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are hiring a Quality Engineer to contribute to continual product and process improvements at Form Energy. In this role, you will develop and document quality processes, participate in cross-functional teams, and work with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Suppliers, and Operations to address quality and manufacturability challenges. This is a hands-on individual contributor role spanning the entire product development lifecycle — from early R&D through validation testing, pilot builds, and SOP/customer deliveries. You will be an integral member of Form Energy's Quality Team, helping ensure all products meet customer and company requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Work closely with Design/Manufacturing Engineering to develop and document measurement, inspection, and test methods in support of Control Plans
  • Support change management and execution of process development experiments
  • Review PFMEAs and Control Plans and assist with updates and revisions
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of manufacturing quality issues
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities with Design/Manufacturing Engineering and external Suppliers
  • Support Statistical Process Control (SPC) activities and use critical thinking to reduce manufacturing variation
  • Support non-conforming material control activities

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • 2–3 years of experience in quality engineering or manufacturing-related roles
  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Familiarity with SPC, PFMEAs, and Control Plans
  • Aptitude with electronic test and measurement systems
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Structured problem-solving skills (8D) and foundational knowledge of statistical tools including DOE, Process Capability (Cpk, Ppk), etc.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools such as JMP, R, Minitab, or equivalent
  • Ability to manage, synthesize, and interpret data
  • Ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while remaining detail-oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills

WHERE YOU'LL WORK:

This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV—an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing. Relocation assistance is available.
