This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a hardworking team of specialists, you will develop and execute commercial quality processes for the design, test and manufacture of launch vehicles, spacecraft, and related technologies. Our team is responsible for driving quality products throughout the organization by maintaining a corporate culture that emphasizes accountability, drive, and attention to detail at all levels. This position requires a passion for solving sophisticated problems and providing operable solutions;

act with minimal direction and take ownership; and be adaptable as we work on a variety of applications and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement, maintain, and enforce quality system processes that support products in development and production environments
  • Measure, analyze, and improve quality system performance consistent with organization quality goals
  • Integrate quality system applications between engineering, manufacturing, and operations to ensure the consistent and ongoing use of quality best practices and communication of quality issues
  • Review and approve manufacturing build documents including work orders and nonconformance records
  • Perform periodic audits of the application of our quality system in accordance with AS9100
  • Facilitate troubleshooting of quality issues, lead causal analysis activities to drive to root cause and corrective action
  • Recommend and improve initiatives and/or changes that will improve product and system quality
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers on quality related concerns; develop and present training materials to build quality awareness
  • Provide Quality support on multiple programs and work centers across Kent on B Shift

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. in engineering/science or 8 years of Quality, Material Handling, and/or Manufacturing experience in an aviation/aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO

9000 QMS and/or related quality systems and programs

  • Excellent communication skills, organized, attention to detail, and self-starter
  • Experience with Root Cause Corrective Actions, Process Improvements, and/or Kaizens
  • Experience with GD&T fundamentals
  • Proficiency in Excel, Airtable, and Tableau

Desired

  • Background in quality inspection and inspection tool capabilities
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or comparable certification
  • Material Review Board (MRB) experience
  • QMS audit experience and quality performance measurement analysis capabilities
  • Shown experience within a start-up environment, transitioning a product from development, through production to operations
