Job Description

The Quality Engineer – Semiconductor is responsible for supporting and executing quality assurance and quality control activities for a large-scale EPC semiconductor new-build project in Arizona. The role focuses on UPW, wastewater, ZLD, utilities, and associated mechanical, process, electrical, and construction scopes.

This position ensures engineering deliverables, vendor documentation, construction activities, and commissioning processes comply with contractual requirements, applicable codes and standards, and the company Quality Management System (QMS). The Quality Engineer works closely with engineering disciplines, procurement, construction, vendors, and commissioning teams to prevent nonconformances, reduce rework, and support first-pass acceptance.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or related discipline)

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, QA/QC, or engineering roles with strong quality responsibilities, Construction QA/QC experience preferred.
  • EPC project experience in industrial environments required
  • Semiconductor, water/wastewater, pharmaceutical, or high-tech manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001–based Quality Management Systems
  • Experience with inspections, audits, NCRs, and corrective actions
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and vendor documentation

Engineering & Design Quality

  • Review engineering deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, specifications, datasheets, calculations) for compliance with contract, codes, and QMS requirements
  • Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, and HAZOPs from a quality perspective
  • Identify quality risks early and recommend preventive actions

Vendor & Procurement Quality

  • Support vendor qualification and technical evaluations
  • Review vendor drawings, datasheets, and FAT documentation
  • Participate in FATs, inspections, and audits as required
  • Track vendor NCRs, deviations, and corrective actions to closure

Construction & Site Quality Support

  • Support construction quality activities for assigned systems
  • Review ITPs, method statements, inspection and test records
  • Participate in site inspections, walkdowns, and punch list activities
  • Support NCR control, field quality issues, and verification of as-built documentation

Commissioning & Turnover

  • Support quality readiness for pre-commissioning and commissioning
  • Verify completeness and accuracy of turnover dossiers and quality records
  • Support system acceptance and final handover activities

Quality Management System

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001–based QMS requirements
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Track quality KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives
