Senior Quality Engineer
Location: Fairburn, GA Compensation: $95,000 – $110,000+ (Commensurate with experience) Employment Type: Full-Time, On-site
Position Overview
Our client, a premier manufacturing organization specializing in engineered industrial solutions, is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to spearhead supplier quality, process development, and customer-centric quality initiatives. This high-visibility, direct-hire role offers the opportunity to influence and scale quality standards across a stable, growth-oriented environment characterized by operational rigor and continuous improvement.
Core Responsibilities
The successful candidate will take direct ownership of quality outcomes through the following activities:
- Root Cause & Corrective Action: Lead comprehensive root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions for complex quality challenges.
- Process Engineering: Develop and optimize quality processes across internal manufacturing and external supplier networks.
- Supplier Quality Management: Manage supplier performance through rigorous evaluation and on-site audits, requiring up to 50% travel.
- Customer Advocacy: Serve as a technical lead for warranty resolutions and customer-facing quality concerns.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Customer Service teams to ensure organizational alignment.
- Performance Metrics: Drive measurable improvements in key performance indicators (KPIs), including First Pass Yield (FPY), scrap reduction, and the overall cost of quality.
- QMS Stewardship: Support and enhance the existing Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Professional Qualifications
- Experience: 7–10+ years of progressive experience within a manufacturing quality environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
- Technical Expertise: Proven background in supplier quality, process development, and formal root cause analysis methodologies.
- Industry Knowledge: Hands-on experience in metals, fabrication, or related industrial environments; foundry experience is highly desirable.
- Communication: Demonstrated ability to interface directly with customers and suppliers regarding warranty and quality issues with professional urgency.
- Mobility: Flexibility to travel up to 50% to various supplier locations.
