Summary
The Apple Services Engineering team is a prime example of Apple's long-standing passion for blending art and technology. This team powers the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books — delivering a rich variety of entertainment in over 35 languages to users in more than 150 countries.
Operating at massive scale, these engineers meet Apple's high expectations with exceptional performance. They build secure, end-to-end solutions, including the custom software that processes creative content, the tools content providers use to deliver media, the server-side systems, and the APIs that support many Apple services.
Though services now represent a significant portion of Apple's business, these teams remain small, nimble, and cross-functional — providing team members with broad exposure and diverse opportunities across the organization.
Description
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Quality Engineering Manager to join our ASE QA team.
In this role, you will lead a globally distributed team responsible for the in-country testing and qualification of ASE (Apple Services Engineering) functionality — spanning the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, and other storefronts, along with payments and related store services. Your team will validate the full breadth of ASE features including consumer-facing user interfaces, backend services, payments, tax, and commerce data reconciliation across local markets and regional storefronts worldwide. You will also oversee the development of scalable automation frameworks to enable rapid validation, support continuous integration, reduce regression cycles, and drive overall testing efficiency across in-country and global markets — ensuring quality at scale across ASE's growing portfolio of services.
This role leads a globally distributed team that includes international contractors across multiple countries. You will be expected to:
Manage and mentor engineers and contractors across time zones, ensuring clear communication, priority alignment, and consistent delivery standards
Coordinate production validation schedules with the teams to ensure coverage across regional launches, storefronts, and regulatory requirements
Partner closely with Singapore engineering counterparts on local infrastructure, builds, and issues
Establish clear processes for handoffs, escalations, and status reporting across distributed teams
Build a collaborative, inclusive team culture where every team member — full-time or contractor, regardless of location — feels accountable and empowered
