Quant/Hedge Fund - Legal Counsel

A reputable quant investment firm is looking to hire a newly created headcount that will be their first legal counsel for the APAC region. The role will have coverage across Hong Kong and Singapore and potentially other locations within the APAC region.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

• Sole legal counsel within the APAC region. Work closely with the General Counsel to build the legal function up as part of the ongoing APAC expansion.
• Provide legal advice on governance and ongoing operations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including ISDAs, prime brokerage, trading agreements, NDAs, and vendor/service provider agreements.
• Advice on corporate matters including entity formation, board documentation, shareholder agreements, and employment law issues.

To be eligible for this role you will require:

• Around 5-10 years PQE within the buy side industry (quant or hedge fund preferred but candidates from a wider background in global markets or asset management will be considered).
• Experience in engaging with Hong Kong SFC and familiarity with Hong Kong licensing requirements will be advantageous.
• Able to work independently. Collaborative mindset.
