Job Description

Quantitative Analyst (Front Office) – Create Real Tools for Live Trading

This isn’t your standard quant role.

Instead of building models that gather dust, you’ll design and develop tools that traders rely on every single day—to price trades, manage risk, and make decisions on the spot.

What makes this opportunity stand out?

  • See the direct impact of your work
  • Everything you build is put to use in live trading. When you create something great, it’s adopted right away.
  • Work at the heart of the action
  • You’ll collaborate closely with traders—no silos here. You’ll gain a real understanding of how trading decisions are made and play an active role in shaping them.
  • From prototype to production
  • Start by building tools in Excel and .NET, then help transform them into robust, scalable applications that the whole desk depends on.
  • Full ownership
  • You’re not just passing projects along. You’ll take your ideas from conception all the way to production, and see their real-world impact.
  • Blend quantitative thinking with engineering
  • This is a hybrid role, bridging the gap between financial modeling and software development. You’ll turn complex logic into practical, powerful systems.

What will you actually do?

  • Build pricing and risk tools that traders use every day
  • Partner directly with traders to solve real, immediate challenges
  • Translate financial models into production-ready code (Python / C#)
  • Streamline and automate pricing and data workflows
  • Contribute to a shared quant library that benefits multiple teams

Who thrives in this role?

  • Those with experience in quant, strat, or quant developer positions
  • Strong programmers (Python, C#, or similar)
  • People familiar with pricing, derivatives, or risk management
  • Folks who enjoy fast-paced, front-office environments and working closely with the business

Why do people choose this path?

  • To get closer to trading and decision-making
  • To do work that’s visible, impactful, and actually used
  • To build tools that make a difference
  • To combine deep technical skills with real-world application

Compensation

  • Salary: CAD $140,000 – $160,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package

If you’re excited about working directly with traders and building tools that make an immediate impact, I’d love to tell you more.
