Quantitative Researcher/Trader – Systematic Equity Option Trading📍 Chicago / New York/Paris💰 $200,000 – $300,000 base + discretionary bonusWe are partnering with a leading proprietary trading firm to hire an experienced option Quantitative Researcher to join one of their systematic trading desks in the US.This is a high-impact role, embedded directly with Trading and Technology, focused on driving alpha generation, scaling research infrastructure, and strengthening systematic capabilities across liquid markets.The RoleYou will sit close to the trading decision process, collaborating with researchers, traders, and engineers to:Develop economic and microstructure-driven hypothesesBuild predictive and explanatory models across financial marketsDesign, backtest, and implement systematic trading strategiesTranslate rigorous research into live revenue-generating signalsCommunicate complex quantitative concepts clearly and effectivelyThis is a hands-on research seat with real ownership and direct PnL impact.RequirementsPhD in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science.) strongly preferred5+ years in a top-tier systematic trading environmentDemonstrable track record of alpha generation / positive PnL contributionStrong Python (NumPy, Pandas) and production-level coding skillsExperience working closely with trading and technology teamsAbility to combine academic rigour with commercial executionNice to HaveExperience across diverse market & alternative datasetsUS options expertise (vol surfaces, pricing models, risk frameworks)Published research in industry settingsWhy Consider This?Established proprietary trading platform with long-term visionDeep collaboration between Research, Trading and EngineeringStrong compensation structure with upsideHigh-calibre intellectual environmentHybrid working model (non-trading teams)Please email a copy of your cv to if you are interested in this opportunity.
