Applied R&D Scientist (Lead)

📍 Austin, TX (On-site) | 🕓 Full-time | 💰 $50,000 – $100,000 + Equity

At EndlessDx (www.endlessdx.com), we are building a CLIA/CAP-accredited clinical laboratory focused on high-performance LC-MS/MS assays for screening and clinical applications. Our work sits at the intersection of analytical rigor and real-world impact—enabling preventive and precision medicine at scale.

We operate as a lean, execution-focused team. The environment is hands-on, fast-paced, and built for individuals who want to take ownership of technical work that directly impacts patient care.

The Role

We are hiring an Applied R&D Scientist to develop, optimize, and validate assays for clinical deployment. This is a highly practical role focused on translating methods into reliable, production-ready workflows.

You will play a key role in determining how quickly new assays are brought online and how consistently they perform in a clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assay Development: Develop and adapt assays using existing platforms, reagents, and methodologies
  • Experimental Design: Design and execute experiments to troubleshoot performance and variability
  • Optimization: Evaluate and improve assay conditions (e.g., matrix effects, buffers, reagents)
  • Validation: Translate methods into validated workflows and SOPs suitable for clinical use
  • Technical Documentation: Author validation protocols, reports, and supporting documentation
  • Deployment: Support assay rollout and collaborate with lab operations to resolve performance issues

Qualifications

  • Education: MS or PhD (or strong BS) in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field
  • Experience: Hands-on experience with assay development, validation, or bioanalytical methods
  • Skills: Strong experimental design, problem-solving, and technical writing
  • Working Style: Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Preferred: Experience in clinical or regulated settings (CLIA/CAP, validation frameworks)

Benefits

  • Health: Up to $500/month reimbursement for insurance premiums and qualified medical expenses
  • Retirement: 401(k) with company match
  • Time Off: PTO, company holidays, and sick leave
  • Equity: Participation in company ownership

Join us in building the infrastructure for preventive and precision medicine.
