About Standard Bots
Standard Bots is building the next generation of industrial robots -- hardware that's powerful, affordable, and designed to scale. We're moving fast from prototype to high-volume production, and every component that enters our facility needs to meet the standard. This role is central to that.
Note: This is a full-time, on-site role at our Glen Cove, NY manufacturing facility.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced Receiving Inspector to own the inspection, verification, and documentation of incoming materials, components, and assemblies used in our robotic systems. You'll work closely with supply chain, hardware engineering, and manufacturing to make sure we only accept parts that meet spec -- and you'll be expected to operate independently from day one.
This is a hands-on role for someone with a track record in incoming inspection or quality who is ready to apply that experience to building complex robotic hardware.
What You'll Do
Inspection & Verification
- Inspect incoming materials, mechanical parts, PCBs, electrical components, and sub-assemblies for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications
- Verify counts, lot codes, certifications, and supplier documentation against purchase orders and drawings
- Use measurement tools -- calipers, micrometers, multimeters, and go/no-go gauges -- to assess part dimensions and functionality
Non-Conformance & Corrective Action
- Identify, tag, and document non-conforming material; initiate and drive NCRs to closure with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with supply chain, hardware engineering, and manufacturing to resolve incoming quality issues and drive corrective actions with suppliers
Documentation & Systems
- Record inspection results in inventory and quality systems (ERP/MRP/QMS)
- Help establish and refine incoming inspection procedures, sampling plans, and acceptance criteria as our product line scales
Warehouse & Inventory
- Maintain a clean, organized receiving and inspection workspace
- Support cycle counts, inventory accuracy, and general warehouse operations as needed
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years of experience as a Receiving Inspector, Incoming Quality Inspector, or QC Inspector in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with standard measurement tools -- calipers, micrometers, multimeters, go/no-go gauges
- Hands-on experience inspecting electronics, mechanical assemblies, and/or electromechanical components
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and quality management systems (QMS)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T callouts, BOMs, and supplier documentation
- Experience writing and processing NCRs and supporting supplier corrective action requests (SCARs/CAPAs)
- Strong attention to detail and a quality-first mindset
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and stand for extended periods
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience in robotics, automotive, aerospace, medical device, or other regulated/precision manufacturing environment
- ASQ certification (CQI, CQT) or equivalent
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and audit support
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma practices
- Experience with vision systems, CMMs, or other advanced inspection equipment
Compensation and Benefits
