Our client is a rapidly growing commodity trading platform with a strong presence across Asia and an expanding portfolio across key markets including agricultural commodities, energy, and industrial products.

About the Role

As the business continues to scale its regional footprint, they are seeking an experienced Regional HR Manager to partner closely with leadership and support both corporate teams and trading operations across multiple markets. This role will oversee key markets across Southeast Asia and Greater China, while leading a team of 3–4 HR Business Partners. This role will play a critical part in strengthening HR frameworks, enabling regional workforce planning, and supporting the organization’s growth in a dynamic and fast-paced trading environment.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR Partnership: Partner with senior leadership, trading heads, and country management teams to align HR strategies with business objectives, supporting the growth and performance of trading operations across the region.
  • Regional Workforce Planning: Drive workforce planning initiatives to ensure the organization has the right talent capabilities to support trading desks, supply chain functions, and regional expansion plans.
  • Talent Management: Oversee end-to-end talent management including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, and retention strategies across corporate offices and trading hubs.
  • Compliance & Employment Regulations: Ensure HR practices comply with complex, multi-jurisdictional labour laws and regulations across the region, particularly in key markets such as India, Vietnam, and Indonesia.
  • HR Policies & Systems: Develop and implement HR policies, frameworks, and HRIS systems to ensure consistency and scalability of HR operations across multiple countries and business units.
  • Employee Relations & HR Advisory: Provide strategic HR advisory to leadership, manage employee relations matters, and foster a high-performance, commercially driven culture across trading and support functions.
  • Regional HR Projects: Lead and support HR initiatives including organisational development, compensation benchmarking, talent development programmes, and HR transformation projects aligned with business growth.
  • Change Management: Support organizational transformation, including scaling teams, entering new markets, and driving cultural initiatives in a fast-evolving commodity trading environment.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within multinational or regional organisations. Prior exposure to commodity trading, supply chain, logistics, or financial trading environments is preferred.
  • Experience managing HR across multiple countries or regions, ideally within fast-paced, commercially driven industries such as trading, logistics, shipping, or financial services.
  • Strong exposure to regional workforce planning, talent management, and HR operations within a growth environment.
  • Familiarity with employment practices and regulations across emerging Asian markets is advantageous.
  • Hands-on HR professional with the ability to operate effectively in dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and work across diverse cultural contexts.
  • Experience implementing HR policies, frameworks, and HR systems across regional teams.
  • Analytical mindset with experience leveraging HRIS systems and workforce data to drive decision-making.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
