Our client is looking for a dedicated and experienced Remote Field Service Engineer specializing in Industrial Automation to join their global team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to leverage your expertise from the convenience of your home office, serving clients across various industries. You will be instrumental in providing on-site support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for advanced automation systems.
In this critical role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues related to industrial control systems, robotics, PLCs, HMI, and other automation hardware and software. You will travel to client sites as needed to perform installations, upgrades, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs. Your ability to quickly identify root causes, implement effective solutions, and ensure minimal downtime for our clients will be paramount to your success.
Primary duties include:
Providing expert technical support for industrial automation equipment and systems. Performing installations, commissioning, and configuration of new equipment. Troubleshooting and repairing hardware and software issues on-site. Conducting preventative maintenance and system health checks. Developing and delivering technical training to client personnel. Collaborating with engineering and support teams to resolve escalated issues. Creating detailed service reports and documentation. Adhering to all safety protocols and company standards. Managing your schedule effectively to meet client demands and travel requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field. A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with industrial automation systems is required, with specific expertise in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell), robotics (e.g., Fanuc, KUKA), and SCADA/HMI systems. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, excellent customer service orientation, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision are essential. This remote role requires significant travel to client locations.
