Remote Lead Electrical Design Engineer - Power Systems & Grid Integration

A cutting-edge energy solutions company is searching for an experienced Remote Lead Electrical Design Engineer to spearhead the design and development of sophisticated power systems and grid integration technologies. This position is fully remote, offering the opportunity to work from anywhere within the United States. You will take a lead role in conceptualizing, designing, and validating electrical systems for renewable energy projects, microgrids, and advanced energy storage solutions. Responsibilities include developing detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and control logic for power distribution, protection, and conversion systems. You will perform complex power system analysis, including load flow, short circuit, and transient stability studies, utilizing industry-standard software such as ETAP, PSS/E, or similar. Expertise in grid interconnection standards, utility requirements, and relevant codes (e.g., NEC, IEEE) is mandatory. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AC/DC power electronics, high-voltage systems, protection relays, and SCADA systems. You will mentor junior engineers, lead design reviews, manage project timelines, and ensure the technical integrity and regulatory compliance of all designs. This role requires strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, clients, and utility partners in a virtual environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Power Systems, and a minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering experience, including significant leadership responsibilities, is required. Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
