Job Description

Our client, a leader in aerospace innovation, is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their advanced engineering team. This role is fully remote, allowing you to contribute to groundbreaking aerospace projects from your home office. You will be responsible for leading the design, analysis, and development of critical mechanical systems for next-generation aircraft and spacecraft. The ideal candidate possesses a deep theoretical and practical understanding of mechanical engineering principles, extensive experience in aerospace applications, and exceptional leadership qualities.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of complex mechanical systems and components for aerospace applications. Perform advanced engineering analysis, including structural, thermal, and dynamic analysis using FEA and CFD tools. Develop and validate system requirements, ensuring designs meet stringent performance, reliability, and safety standards. Oversee the creation of detailed CAD models, drawings, and specifications using industry-standard software. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, materials science, and manufacturing, to ensure integrated solutions. Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical expertise and fostering innovation. Drive the development and execution of testing and validation plans for new designs. Identify and implement innovative design solutions to overcome complex engineering challenges. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in aerospace mechanical engineering. Prepare and present technical documentation, reports, and findings to senior management and clients. Contribute to proposal development and technical strategy for future projects.

Required Qualifications:

Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design and analysis, with a significant focus on the aerospace industry. Deep expertise in structural analysis, thermal analysis, fluid dynamics, and vibrations. Proficiency with advanced CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and FEA/CFD tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus, Star-CCM+). Proven experience with aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and testing methodologies. Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to lead technical discussions and influence stakeholders. Experience with systems engineering principles and requirements management.
