Cannon Ventures is a progressive entrepreneurial resource connecting investors with high-potential startups in the digital asset market. They are seeking a Quant Trader to design and deploy trading strategies in crypto markets, manage live positions, and analyze market data to enhance trading efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design, backtest, and deploy systematic trading strategies across crypto spot, futures, perpetuals, and options markets
- Manage live positions with disciplined risk frameworks — sizing, drawdown controls, and real-time P&L monitoring
- Analyze market microstructure, funding rates, order flow, and cross-exchange liquidity to identify exploitable inefficiencies
- Collaborate with the investment team to integrate macro and on-chain data signals into strategy development
- Build and maintain execution tooling, data pipelines, and strategy automation infrastructure
- Produce regular performance reports, risk attribution analysis, and trade review documentation
- Monitor regulatory developments across US digital asset markets and adjust strategy parameters accordingly
Skills
- 1–4 years of experience in quantitative trading, algorithmic strategy development, or digital asset portfolio management
- Demonstrated personal or professional track record actively trading digital assets — spot, derivatives, or structured products
- Strong proficiency in Python (pandas, numpy, backtesting libraries) or equivalent quant stack
- Solid understanding of derivatives mechanics, market microstructure, and risk management frameworks
- Familiarity with on-chain analytics tools — Dune, Nansen, DefiLlama, Arkham, or equivalent
- Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment with minimal oversight
- Experience with DeFi protocols, MEV, or cross-exchange arbitrage is a strong advantage
- Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent practical background
