Remote Senior Cloud Automation Engineer - DevOps

Our client, a leader in innovative software solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Automation Engineer to join their fully remote team. This role is integral to building and maintaining our scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing automated solutions across our cloud environments, focusing on efficiency, reliability, and performance. This is a remote-first position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the US. As a Senior Cloud Automation Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and scripting to streamline our development and deployment processes. You will play a key role in defining our automation strategy, selecting the right tools and technologies, and driving best practices across the engineering organization. Your contributions will directly impact the speed and quality of our software delivery. You will collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:Design, build, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment and infrastructure provisioning. Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible. Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Automate cloud resource management, monitoring, and alerting across AWS, Azure, or GCP. Develop and maintain scripting solutions (e.g., Python, Bash) for system administration and automation tasks. Collaborate with software development teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues. Implement security best practices in all aspects of cloud infrastructure and automation. Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations. Document automation processes, infrastructure configurations, and best practices. Research and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance our automation capabilities. Participate in on-call rotations to ensure the availability and reliability of our services. Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of learning and continuous improvement. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or a related role. Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI. Solid understanding of containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes). Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack). Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet). Understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and microservices architecture. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote team environment.
