Our client is a cutting-edge sports analytics firm that partners with professional teams and organizations to provide data-driven insights for performance enhancement. We are expanding our team and seeking a highly analytical and sports-passionate Remote Sports Data Analyst. This fully remote position allows you to leverage your statistical expertise and deep understanding of sports to interpret complex datasets and provide actionable recommendations that drive strategic decision-making in the world of athletics.

Key Responsibilities:

Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to athlete performance, team statistics, and game events across various sports. Develop and implement statistical models and algorithms to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends. Generate insightful reports and visualizations to communicate complex findings clearly and concisely to coaches, scouts, and management. Collaborate with sports performance staff to understand their data needs and provide tailored analytical support. Identify emerging trends and opportunities within sports analytics, proposing innovative approaches to data utilization. Develop and maintain databases and data pipelines for efficient data management and retrieval. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in sports science, data analytics, and relevant technologies. Contribute to the development of proprietary analytical tools and methodologies. Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a compelling and persuasive manner. Ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the analysis process.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Sports Analytics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, with a demonstrated passion for and understanding of sports analytics, is required. Strong proficiency in statistical programming languages such as Python (with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, SciPy) or R is essential. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and database querying (SQL) is highly desirable. A deep understanding of sports rules, strategies, and performance metrics across multiple sports is a significant advantage. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are a must. Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed to effectively present complex data insights. This is a remote position requiring self-discipline, strong time management skills, and the ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment.
