Position Summary
New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint a Research AI Scientist reporting to a Research Data Scientist II. Key Responsibilities
Work with faculty and researchers through collaboration and support to advance their research using AI (NLP, ML & CV)
Conduct research on machine learning and AI methodologies to develop novel algorithms that drive product innovation
Design and execute experiments to validate hypotheses, analyze data, and derive actionable insights
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing products and workflows
Conduct training, engagement and outreach to the researcher and faculty community
Required Education
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field
Preferred Education
Doctoral Degree in a related field
Required Experience
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and relevant libraries (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, scikit‑learn) and experience with AI frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch
Strong background in statistical analysis and data modeling techniques
Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and their applications
Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation
Strong coding skills in Python or similar languages, with experience in version control systems like Git
Ability to develop applications using Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non‑technical audiences
Ability to keep up to date with technological advances
Ability to work in a team‑based environment and contribute positively to it
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Ability to work with individuals at all levels and diplomatically manage expectations
Creative problem‑solving abilities and initiative

Preferred Experience
Experience with large‑scale machine learning systems and cloud‑based solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment and communicate complex concepts effectively
Proficiency with popular GenAI tools and frameworks (e.g., OpenAI ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama)
Experience working at a research university HPC center is highly preferred
