Senior Associate Scientist – BioDesign

Duration: 12 months

Location: Cambridge MA

Department: Research & Development

Overview

We are looking for a Senior Associate Scientist to join the BioDesign team. This is a hands-on lab role focused on designing and developing therapeutic proteins, including antibodies, to support treatments for immunological, neurodegenerative, and muscular diseases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce antibodies and recombinant proteins using transient and stable expression systems
  • Perform mammalian cell culture (CHO cells) in shake flasks
  • Prepare plasmid DNA
  • Conduct protein characterization assays (ELISA, MSD)
  • Perform flow cytometry sample prep and analysis
  • Accurately document experiments, data, and protocols

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience in antibody/protein expression in CHO cells
  • Strong mammalian cell culture skills
  • Hands-on experience with ELISA or similar assays
  • Good documentation and communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with stable cell line generation / cell engineering
  • Knowledge of flow cytometry
  • Background in molecular biology
  • Experience in immunoassays (MSD, ELISA) and protein purification
