Job Summary

The primary duty of the Research Associate is to plan and conduct research.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • General Lab Manage:

Make inventory of lab supplies; order research supplies; stock supplies in the cell culture room and lab space; cleaning and autoclaving.

  • Analyze large data sets and provide bioinformatic support.
  • General lab research work:

Perform general molecular biology experiments including PCR, cloning, western blot, immunohistochemistry, etc.; cell culture and transfection; plasmid preparation and lentiviral vector production.

  • Mouse breeding:

Set up mouse breeding cages, wean, inventory breeding mice; perform mouse genotyping; transfer mice to the researcher.

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Promote a customer-friendly environment and provide superior service to patients, students, faculty, and employees.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area and experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research.

OR

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area and a minimum of three years' research and/or clinical experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, multi-tasking, organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and other computer software/databases.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines despite frequent interruptions, maintain confidentiality, keep accurate records, and make independent decisions.

Shift / Salary / Benefits

  • Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of normal business hours will likely be required of an exempt-level employee).
  • Pay Band: B8
  • Salary Range: $45,400/annually – $50,675/annually.
  • Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum to midpoint).
  • Recruitment Period: 7/23/25 - Until Filled.
