Job Description

Mechanical Engineer to perform hands on production support, research, and product development. Responsible for research, specifications, planning, design, development, and testing of aerospace products. Performs research and/or product development testing encompassing multiple engineering disciplines, such as electrical, and mechanical. This is an opportunity for a Research Engineer to work in the Environmental Test Lab.

Basic Qualifications

-Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

-Experience in technical writing for development of test reports and procedures.

-Knowledge of computer software applications in the Microsoft suite.

Desired skills

-Knowledge of the fundamental concepts of structural dynamics, random vibration theory, and digital signal analysis.

-Experience implementing lean or Six Sigma methodologies to increase test throughput, reduce cycle time, or enhance data quality

-Experience performing tasks on teams across multiple functional groups (electrical, software, quality, and manufacturing) and mentoring junior engineers or technicians.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $60,200 - $106,030. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
