RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, test, and optimize small scale (e.g. 96-well) plate-based fermentation conditions and parameters for the production of complex natural products
- Develop novel assays to measure diverse target compounds with increased throughput
- Apply and incorporate augmentation and automation solutions
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary scientific team to effectively communicate plans and results for tool and assay development
- Lead seamless implementation and integration of newly developed tools into the team's workflows REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related field
- Experience in small-scale microbial fermentation optimization (96 well plate or shake flasks)
- Experience in developing medium to high throughput assays for product quantification or cellular analysis
- Critical thinker with enthusiasm for deriving solutions to complex challenges in a biotechnology lab PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Understanding of microbial physiology and/or experience in metabolic engineering
