Our client is a leading biopharmaceutical company seeking a highly motivated and innovative Research Scientist to join their Drug Discovery team. You will play a key role in the identification and validation of novel therapeutic targets and the development of innovative drug candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and execute experiments to investigate biological pathways and identify potential drug targets. Develop and optimize biochemical and cellular assays for target validation and compound screening. Analyze complex experimental data, interpret results, and draw conclusions. Contribute to the design of hit-to-lead and lead optimization programs. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including medicinal chemists, pharmacologists, and bioinformaticians. Prepare scientific reports, presentations, and manuscripts for internal and external dissemination. Stay current with the latest scientific literature and advancements in relevant fields. Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks and records. Propose novel research ideas and contribute to the strategic direction of the drug discovery pipeline. Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines. Qualifications:
PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Genetics, or a related life science discipline. Postdoctoral experience or a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry research experience in drug discovery is required. Demonstrated expertise in relevant assay development (e.g., biochemical, cellular, high-throughput screening). Strong understanding of disease biology and target validation strategies. Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., GraphPad Prism, R) and statistical methods. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex experimental challenges. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to present scientific findings. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and collaborate effectively in a remote scientific setting. Experience with molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, Western blotting, cloning) is a plus.
