Our client, a pioneering biomedical research institution located in the vibrant city of Seattle, Washington, US , is seeking an accomplished Research Scientist specializing in Genomics. This critical role will drive cutting-edge research projects focused on understanding the genetic underpinnings of complex diseases and developing novel therapeutic strategies. Responsibilities:

Lead and manage independent research projects in genomics, from experimental design to data analysis and publication. Utilize advanced genomic techniques, including next-generation sequencing (NGS), single-cell genomics, and spatial transcriptomics. Develop and optimize bioinformatics pipelines for processing and analyzing large-scale genomic datasets. Interpret complex genomic data to identify disease-associated genes, pathways, and biomarkers. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, bioinformaticians, and other scientists, to advance research objectives. Write and secure grant proposals to secure funding for research projects. Mentor and supervise junior researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and technical staff. Present research findings at national and international scientific conferences. Publish high-impact research articles in peer-reviewed journals. Contribute to the development and implementation of new research technologies and methodologies. Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety and ethical guidelines. Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Genetics, Genomics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of postdoctoral research experience in genomics, with a strong emphasis on experimental design and data interpretation. Demonstrated expertise in various NGS platforms (e.g., Illumina, PacBio, Oxford Nanopore) and library preparation methods. Proficiency in bioinformatics tools and software for genomic data analysis (e.g., R, Python, Galaxy, relevant command-line tools). Strong understanding of statistical genetics, population genetics, and computational biology. Proven track record of high-quality scientific publications in reputable journals. Experience in grant writing and successful funding acquisition is highly desirable. Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, research-intensive environment. Experience with CRISPR technology or other gene editing tools is a plus.
