Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Analytical/Bioanalytical Scientist with a strong focus on chromatography-based purification to join our drug discovery team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting high throughput purification and assay workflow to enable weekly design-make-test-analysis workflow supporting in house AI based drug discovery engine. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in chromatographic purification, particularly SFC and/or LC purification of small molecules, along with proven skills in instrument troubleshooting, workflow optimization, and a working understanding of ADME/DMPK assay design and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the expert for chromatography-based purification, with deep experience in SFC and LC-based purification of small molecules in a drug discovery environment.
- Develop, implement, and optimize purification workflows, including preparative chromatography methods, fraction collection strategies, and post-purification data integration.
- Design and maintain automated purification workflows to increase throughput, reproducibility, and sample quality.
- Collaborate with medicinal chemistry, purification, and DMPK teams to deliver high-quality purified compounds to support lead optimization and screening.
- Provide hands‑on support, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting for LC, LC/MS, and SFC instruments, to minimize downtime and ensure consistent lab operations.
- Partner with vendors and automation providers for service, upgrades, installations, and workflow integration.
- Potential support ADME/DMPK and physicochemical assays, contributing to method development, troubleshooting, and execution as needed.
- Document purification workflows, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting in compliance with laboratory best practices.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (M.S. with or Ph.D.) in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum of Ph.D. and 2 years of experience OR M.S. with 6 years of experience.
- Extensive hands‑on experience in chromatography-based purification, with deep expertise in SFC and/or LC purification of small molecules.
- Strong experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting LC, LC/MS, and SFC systems (Shimadzu, Agilent, Sciex, preferred).
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve common instrument and workflow issues.
- Familiarity with informatics tools such as Virscidian, Pipeline Pilot, KNIME, or equivalent for purification data management.
- Experience developing and supporting ADME/DMPK and physicochemical assays is a strong plus.
- Solid understanding of the drug discovery process from lead identification through candidate optimization.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, cross‑functional research environment.
