Role Description The Responsible Investment Analyst / RI Analyst / ESG Investment Specialist is responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and supporting investment decisions based on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. This role focuses on integrating sustainability and responsible investment principles into investment strategies, research, and portfolio management.

Key responsibilities include conducting ESG research and analysis, monitoring portfolio companies’ ESG performance, preparing reports for investment teams, and supporting the development of responsible investment policies. The role involves collaborating with asset managers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure that investment decisions align with ESG principles and regulatory requirements.

Responsible Investment Analysts typically focus on ESG research and reporting, RI Analysts assist with ESG integration and monitoring, while ESG Investment Specialists provide deeper insight into sustainable investing, impact measurement, and ESG risk assessment.

At senior levels, responsibilities expand to leading ESG investment initiatives, developing ESG strategies, advising on responsible investment frameworks, engaging with portfolio companies on ESG practices, and contributing to thought leadership in sustainable finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
• Proven experience in responsible investment, ESG analysis, or sustainable finance
• Knowledge of ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting (e.g., SASB, TCFD, UN PRI)
• Strong analytical and research skills for evaluating ESG risks and opportunities
• Experience in financial analysis, portfolio management, or investment research
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to integrate ESG insights into investment decisions and reporting
• Understanding of regulatory requirements related to ESG and sustainable finance
