Role Overview
Seeking a Risk Analyst I to support credit risk model development and enhancement within a leading financial institution. This role focuses on quantitative analysis, model calibration, and supporting regulatory risk models (PD, LGD, EAD) under the AIRB framework.
This is an entry-level opportunity suited for candidates with strong quantitative and programming backgrounds who are interested in risk modeling and financial analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Support development and calibration of credit risk models (PD, LGD, EAD)
Conduct data analysis including segmentation, backtesting, and performance validation
Clean, process, and analyze large datasets to support modeling activities
Execute and develop code using SAS, Python, R, or C++
Conduct research on modeling methodologies and industry best practices
Support model lifecycle activities including development, validation, and enhancement
Prepare technical documentation and reports outlining model assumptions and performance
Develop management summaries highlighting key findings and recommendations
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support modeling initiatives
Required Qualifications
0–2 years of experience in quantitative analysis, data analysis, or risk-related roles
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Programming experience in SAS, Python, or R
Understanding of statistical modeling and data analysis techniques
Nice to Have
Familiarity with credit risk models or commercial lending models
Knowledge of quantitative finance techniques (e.g., Merton Model, Vasicek Model)
Experience with C or C++
Exposure to regulatory frameworks (Basel III, OSFI)
