About the Role
As a Risk Management Analyst in our Risk Management Team, you will work closely with the Director, Risk Management to support our corporate insurance strategies globally. This role requires you to understand and analyze all Property & Casualty exposures to ensure proper programs are in place to protect Cover Genius. You will be responsible for all submission materials for annual renewals as well as loss notifications when appropriate.
Additionally, you will support the overall Risk Management function at Cover Genius. This includes risk and incident intake, mitigation and assisting with risk registers. As Cover Genius evolves, the role may gradually expand to support additional business risk and governance activities across the department. The ideal candidate is a "risk generalist" who understands how regulatory compliance, vendor due diligence, and corporate insurance intersect to protect the organization’s assets and reputation.
Key Responsibilities
•
Own the completion of corporate insurance applications across all insurance programs by gathering required data, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and ensuring timely and accurate submissions
•
Own loss notifications to our broker partners for all programs
•
Support the team’s efforts with incident and risk reporting
•
Support the development and execution of ESG initiatives by maintaining documentation and assisting with data gathering and reporting.
•
Aid Compliance team efforts in the completion of compliance monitoring plans, assisting with reporting, tracking, and following up on action items
•
Own project management of long-term risk mitigation plans
•
Support business risk and governance activities within the department by applying established frameworks to operational processes
•
Facilitate risk workshops and engage stakeholders to proactively identify project risks
•
Assist with regular management and board reporting initiatives
Qualifications
•
A bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Legal Studies or a related field
•
At least 5 - 7 years experience in a risk management or compliance role
•
Certifications such as ARM, CRCMP or other are a bonus
•
Prior experience placing insurance or experience with insurance submissions is a plus
•
Previous experience with a late-stage start up, start up or early stage company is a plus
What you will have
•
Self-Starter Mentality: You don't wait for a task list. You have a proven ability to work independently, identify gaps in current processes, and take the initiative to propose and implement solutions.
•
Operational Grit: You are comfortable "owning the middle." You have the persistence to follow up with busy internal stakeholders without constant supervision.
•
Technical Literacy in Insurance: You possess a solid understanding of corporate insurance programs and coverages. Crucially, you are proficient in reading and interpreting certificates of insurance and can accurately navigate complex insurance applications.
•
Risk & Compliance Foundation: 3–5 years of experience in Risk Management, Compliance, or Insurance Operations.
•
Adaptability & Intellectual Curiosity: You thrive in a "broad and general" role. You are just as comfortable reviewing a policy wording as you are coordinating a global insurance renewal or auditing an ESG data set.
•
Exceptional Organizational Skills: You can manage multiple workstreams with competing deadlines. You are the person who keeps the tracker updated and ensures nothing falls through the cracks.
•
Communication & Influence: You have the professional presence to coordinate across Finance, Legal, and Operations, ensuring accurate collection and submission of documentation in accordance with regulatory guidelines
