Role: Automation Process Equipment Engineer

Location: Fully Onsite in Wilmington, DE

Compensation: $135,000 to $150,000 per year annual salary.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years in automated equipment design within manufacturing (web-handling preferred)
  • 5+ years working with vision systems (ISRA Vision, Dr. Schenk, or similar)
  • Experience with SolidWorks (CAD/CAE and PDM)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Strong understanding of:

○ Machine safety and risk assessments (SISTEMA preferred)

○ Electrical systems and network architecture

○ Mechanical and/or electrical fabrication

  • Strong communication and ability to work cross-functionally

Job Description

Our client is looking for an experienced automation engineer to support manufacturing sites with the design, improvement, and rollout of automated equipment. This person will work across multiple sites, helping develop solutions, support projects, and improve existing processes—especially within web-handling and vision systems.' Key Responsibilities • Partner with site teams to understand challenges and develop automation solutions • Design, improve, and support automated manufacturing equipment • Lead and support capital projects (SOWs, design reviews, build, testing, commissioning) • Provide expertise in: ○ Robotics, inspection systems, and barcoding ○ Vision systems for web-handling processes ○ Mechanical layout and equipment design • Support safety initiatives, including machine risk assessments and standards • Help develop and implement equipment and automation standards across sites • Collaborate with external vendors for equipment design and build • Support technology roadmaps and automation assessments • Manage multiple projects and act as a technical lead
