Job Description

Rubber Product Engineer (Reinforcement & Composites)

About the Role: We are a growing manufacturing factory in UAE ( Sharjah) seeking a highly skilled and specialized Rubber Reinforcement Engineer to lead the development of our new line of cylindrical, high-pressure reinforced rubber products. In this role, you will focus on the structural integrity, reinforcement design, and manufacturing processes of multi-layer rubber products. You will work in a highly collaborative environment, partnering with our in-house Rubber Compounding Expert and our Mechanical Design and Fabrication team to bring robust, pressure-resistant products from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and manufacturing process for cylindrical rubber products requiring textile reinforcement to handle high internal pressures and controlled expansion.
  • Select appropriate textile cords (e.g., Nylon, Polyester, Aramid/Kevlar) based on required pressure ratings and dimensional stability.
  • Calculate and define precise wrapping angles to manage structural behavior, radial expansion, and axial stability under pneumatic/hydraulic pressure.
  • Oversee and troubleshoot the rubber-to-fabric bonding process, ensuring perfect adhesion (utilizing RFL treatments or similar methods) to prevent delamination.
  • Optimize production utilizing Mandrel-built wrapping techniques and lathe building machines.
  • Manage the vulcanization process using Autoclave curing, including the precise application of nylon curing tapes to ensure bubble-free, high-quality finishes.
  • Collaborate with the mechanical engineering team to design and verify specifications for mandrels and related production tooling.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Polymer/Rubber Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Textile Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • 7+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience specifically in one or more of the following industries:
  • High-Pressure Industrial Hoses (Mandrel-built process).
  • Air Springs / Pneumatic Suspension Systems.
  • Tire Manufacturing (specifically in Casing, Ply Design, or Textile Cord adhesion).
  • Deep technical knowledge of wrapping machinery (Building Lathes) and Autoclave curing systems.
  • Expertise in composite mechanics, specifically how rubber and textiles interact under continuous stress and pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work alongside a compounding specialist to align rubber recipes with reinforcement requirements.
