Overview

RBC Capital Markets is part of the Royal Bank of Canada, a leading global financial institution. This internship provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced market professionals and gain hands‑on experience in Sales & Trading.

Opportunity

Internship for undergraduates and graduates, 16‑week co‑op program. Seek well‑rounded candidates with strong academic performance, analytical skills, extracurricular diversity, and leadership qualities.

Responsibilities

  • Research news and information from Bloomberg, Reuters, and other media to develop consolidated reports.
  • Prepare and distribute daily notes (morning, mid‑day, energy/mining, market‑share) to clients and internal teams.
  • Analyze trading volumes, values, communications, and research reports to document and summarize trading activity.
  • Support the Corporate Access Team with marketing data, event coordination, and analyst outreach.
  • Complete research projects such as investment ideas, industry analysis, and client analysis.
  • Liaise with Equity Sales Professionals and Traders for special assignments.
  • Identify and propose process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Completion of first year of a business, economics, finance or related degree.
  • Basic market knowledge and keen interest in capital markets.
  • Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Motivated, initiative‑driven, and able to add value.
  • Problem‑solving ability, business sense, multitasking and prioritising under pressure.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Availability to work global market hours (6 a.m. to 6 p.m.).

Nice to Have

  • CSC and CPH certifications; enrollment in CFA.
  • Prior related work experience; use of Bloomberg or Reuters Eikon.
