Scientist I or II, GPCR Biology

Early-Stage Biotech

South San Francisco

Permanent role, FT

We're supporting a next generation genetic medicines biotech in South San Francisco that is expanding its Therapeutic Technologies group. The company recently emerged from stealth and is developing an RNA based delivery platform for genetic medicines. This is a hands on role where you will build and run cell based assays that directly inform therapeutic program decisions.

What you will work on

  • Design and execute GPCR focused in vitro assays, including signaling and receptor behavior readouts
  • Work with primary cells and disease relevant cell systems
  • Use molecular and biochemical methods including qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA, Western blot and flow cytometry
  • Contribute data into candidate selection and program advancement
  • Collaborate closely with RNA sciences, protein engineering and computational teams

What they are looking for

  • Strong background in GPCR biology including signaling, ligand activity and functional assay development
  • Experience building and troubleshooting in vitro pharmacology assays
  • Familiarity with primary cells or complex cellular systems
  • Clear scientific communication and ability to work independently
  • Postdoctoral or industry experience is valued
