The Informatics and Predictive Sciences (IPS) mission is to Pioneer, Partner and Predict to drive transformative insights for patient benefit. IPS conducts applied computational research in areas that include genomic, structural and molecular informatics, computational and systems biology, patient selection and translational biomarker research, and broader fields including knowledge science, epidemiology and machine learning-across the full lifecycle of drug discovery and development and across all therapeutic areas at BMS. Scientist, Translational Informatics and Predictive Sciences

We seek a creative and passionate computational scientist to join the Cell Therapy team within Informatics and Predictive Sciences, a globally distributed group driving innovative computational research for discovery and early development. In this role, you will apply your analytical skills to analysis of a broad array of omics datasets generated from pre-clinical experiments as well as from clinical studies. You will work as part of a cross-functional team focused on cell therapy programs in the pre-clinical and translational stages of development. In so doing, you will contribute to the development of novel therapeutic approaches that directly address unmet medical need in oncology and autoimmune diseases.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comparative analysis of quantified genomics samples including QC, structural variant analysis, differential expression and methylation analysis, insertion site analysis
  • Develop and execute genomics pipelines as defined by experimental needs of Cell Therapy collaborators
  • Automate and optimize preclinical experimental data collection and sharing
  • Collaborate with colleagues from multiple other functions including pre-clinical, translational and clinical
  • Communicate findings in multiple settings including 1:1s, working groups, seminar series and team meetings

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree 5+ years of academic / industry experience
  • or Master's Degree 3+ years of academic / industry experience
  • or PhD No experience required

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in bioinformatics, molecular biology, statistics, physics, genetics, or similar area 7+ years of relevant experience Background in cell therapy
  • Broad experience with analysis of long-read DNA sequencing, sequence variant calling from whole-genome sequencing, bisulfite-targeted sequencing, clinical trial gene expression data Familiarity with R, Positron, research compute environments, Benchling.
  • Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills, and rigorous and creative thinking Strong communication, data presentation and visualization skills Capability to establish strong working relationships across and within organization.

Compensation Overview:

Seattle - WA: $135,010 - $163,605
